Hornet. No sign of Gondry.

The Green Hornet ( The Green Hornet) is a character created during the 30 United States George W. Trendle and Fran Stryker for a radio serial.
The serial follows the adventures of The Green Hornet, Britt Reid , and Kato inseparable in their fight against crime.
Britt Reid (billionaire owner of the newspaper The Sentinel and great-nephew of John Reid , The Lone Ranger) and Kato posing as criminals in order to infiltrate the crime networks in the city and then wipe them with the help of his great skills in melee and assisted by Black Beauty, an indestructible car equipped with all kinds of weapons and technological advancement. ;
The growing success of this radio series led to The Green Hornet also saw the light in other formats: those Comics and the TV also get to become feature film in 1940 .
gradually, masked adventurer would go into oblivion until, towards the end of the decade of 60 and building on the success of another TV series starring Batman (character that The Green Hornet is very similar), the 20Th Century Fox it comes back again to the television format for which it has Bruce Lee in the role of Kato . The series consists of 26 chapters of 30 minutes each, would remain a year in harvesting antenna remarkable success. This gave the same studies, years later, in 1974, agree to transfer it to film recovering to the same main characters.
Since then, implementation of a new film adaptation of the adventures of The Green Hornet is a project that has been taking and leaving many times.
During the 90's it was announced that George Clooney and Jason Scott Lee would play the main characters. The project never came to see the light and towards the end of the decade Michel Gondry, director of music videos, start working on a screenplay based on the radio serial.
Neither the script nor Gondry later, and in 2002 , John Fusco wrote get nothing better than being forgotten in the drawer by any producer. We arrived at 2004
and Kevin Smith is working on making a script for a new adaptation of The Green Hornet which is slated for release next year starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jet Li .
Everyone knows the famous and unfortunate lack of formality Smith, so it is not surprising that two years later and after a long period of inactivity, it had just announced his separation from the project.
On 4 June 2008 announced that Sony Pictures is in charge of the project to Treves of its subsidiary, Columbia Pictures . The director would Stephen Chow ( who also play the role of Kato ) and production, for which he had already begun negotiations with Nicolas Cage as the villain of the moment and like Cameron Diaz object of desire of the protagonist, should begin in 2009 .
Later that same year Chow leaves the project, citing creative differences and was replaced by Michel Gondry while Nicolas Cage does the same and is replaced by Christoph Waltz in the role of villain. Is engaged to actor and singer Jay Chou Taiwanese for the role of Kato and comedian Seth Rogen takes charge of rewriting the script so as to play the lead. 2011
This year has seen, therefore, light a project that began in 2004 a script by Kevin Smith . A bill that has passed over these seven years, through the hands of different writers, different studies and different directors. A project that, predictably, ended up losing all trace of authorship.
never know as it would have been a Green Hornet with humor, provocation and cynicism of which Smith usually provide their scripts in the same way we will never know as I would have been a Green Hornet directed by Michel Gondry that he had not bowed to the demands and conventions of the American blockbusters.
Perhaps for the sake of fame or perhaps simply by the need to eat what is certain is that, except at some point during the early stages of the film, Gondry not Gondry. And it shows. It misses the fantasy and the visual universe catch us in the great The Science of Sleep and the masterpiece entitled Forget Me and, above all, miss the presence of a good script.
's script Seth Rogen, Comic stress to the room, is a script full of unfunny jokes. A script that develops a character, his own, making it a tiresome kind that eventually odious, that misses the presence of Cameron Diaz making a character perfectly dispensable and that lowers the villain played by Christoph Waltz to category ridiculous parody of the character he played in Inglourious Basterds . A script that extends the final confrontation to the point of making it unbearably boring. The Green Hornet
is a film that, after a promising first half hour, it becomes a major disappointment with a popping film easily dispensable.
A job that I hope Gondry has become great because he has sold his soul to him.
